Pioneer TAD S-2EX Beryllium & Magnesium CST Bookshelf Speakers

We are selling a pair of Pioneer TAD S-2EX bookshelf speakers. This is the famous Andrew Jones design from when he took over as TAD director of speaker design in the early 2000s. These speakers use the same drivers as the TAD Compact Evolution and Evolution speakers of the same era; the main differences are the crossovers and cabinet design. Many say these get you very close to the performance of the current Compact Evolution speakers, which retail for $32,500. Needless to say, the S-2EX represents one of the best values in the high-end used HiFi market, outperforming many speakers at multiples of its price.

The magic lies in Andrew’s cabinet and crossover design, and of course the legendary TAD transducers, which are some of the lowest distortion units on the market. With the beryllium tweeter and magnesium midrange in a coaxial CST (Coherent Source Transducer) configuration, they present an extremely wide sweet spot and a rock-solid stereo image. They truly must be heard in person to understand their magic. The speakers were measured with Smaart and are a sonically matched pair. All drivers and crossovers are in perfect working condition. They were used in our Los Angeles showroom with great feedback from customers.
